Website Design for Sedona

Search Engine Optimization (SEO)

The world of search engine optimization is perhaps the most misunderstood term in the realm of website design and marketing, but the essence of it is not so hard to grasp. In its most simplistic form, SEO refers to the all-encompassing process of building and maintaining a website to help the site show up in Google and other major search engines for the desired search phrases.

At Javelina Design, we lay the groundwork for SEO in every site we build. It provides the foundation for future web marketing efforts.

Not All SEO Is Created Equal

There are two basic approaches SEO. These are what have come to be known in the trade as Black Hat techniques and White Hat techniques. We employ White Hat techniques only since Black Hat techniques can and will get your site banned from Google. We will not let that happen to your site.

Any SEO that guarantees (and many do) top rankings in Google or any other search engine is trying to scam you. Furthermore, they very likely utilize Black Hat techniques, putting your site at risk of blacklisting.

While there are no guarantees, we have been very successful at helping our clients rank well in Google, Yahoo and MSN both on the local and national levels. The best results come by working closely with our clients and understanding their business, the competition involved and their level of commitment.

Real World Results

Here is a Google search for furniture hardware. The #1 organic (i.e. not paid) listing is for our former client Whitechapel Ltd., a position they have maintained since 2007. Whitechapel enjoys many other excellent rankings for numerous keyword phrases. Notice that for the furniture hardware phrase, they are ranked first out of over 45 million results.

Keep in mind that this is a global search result which is, as you might imagine, much more difficult to come by than a search tied to a particular locale, like Sedona.

Also notice the 3 "Sponsored links" above the Whitechapel listing. These listings are paid for by the respective merchants. Nonetheless, study after study has shown web users preference for the unbiased "organic" listing vs listings that can be purchased.
